Aug 5 – Day 95 exploring Wrangell

There are several old Totems from Sakes Island under cover for display and preservation
Exploring around Wrangel. Water color change is water from the glacial outflow of the Stikine river meeting up with the bay water. Very distinct color difference; muddy/milky gray green vs the dark bay water.
We went looking for the petroglyphs on the beach. Did not find the one pictured in the magazines/brochures but did find a number of others. Apparently there have been about 40 of them found on this beach or in this area.

Afternoon we headed out for the Blacshy Island anchorage and to meet back up with Nelsea. As we got to Chatum Straights the wind had come up so we called Nelsea and switched to the Steamer Cove Inlet. Nelsea took the brunt of the waves with some spray over the top.
