That bright globe in the sky is out again today, and it is going to be warm.  Yippee.   We will be leaving PR this morning.

We hope to cross paths with these two great guys again. 

 

We headed out about 10:30 with sunny sky and smooth water. Our target is the outer route just inside the line of islands protecting us from the ocean swell. We anchored in Gasboat Cove as we entered Kitkatla Inlet. We did not try to go to the First nations community of Kitkatla since it is very likely closed to visitors due to Covid.  

 

We explored the next inlet, Billy Bay, and found the remains of buildings, ? docks, fence lines – likely around farmlands that had been protected from the sea by the construction of log and dirt dikes. One spot had the remains of an old house foundation with stove etc…   and not far away was what was the outhouse, which was in better shape, and some evidence of what had been a boat.   Another place had a building which had a rusted-out engine.  This place was newer and clearly had at one time had electricity.   It does make one wonder about the people who lived in places like this and why.
