Day 30 June 14 Shearwater to Blair Inlet

Day 30    June 14  Shearwater to Blair Inlet

This is the first day of sun in about a week.   Some of the troop sat on back decks soaking up the sunshine.   Two large eagle spent much of the day sitting in the tops of the trees directly behind the boats.   They were watching us.

This one kept watching us

Yep I’m still watching!

We spent much of the day doing odd things and waiting to hear whether Diane could get on a flight back to Seattle.   After much work, several reservations, some ‘sorry we are full’, Diane finally resorted to making a public announcement in the airport … looking for someone to give up their seat for her.  There was another flight (she was booked for) in another hour but that one would mean that she would miss her connection to Seattle.    Bruce a guy who had just spent some time at a fishing lodge, stepped up and traded planes with her.  Of course, this meant that the airline had to take his fish boxes off the plane so that they could go with him.    The long and short of it is that Diane made it safely back home and will be going to her Dr early in the morning.  Cat Scan and MRI are already booked for her.   Our hope is that they figure out what the reason for her double vision etc… is and that they can fix it/address it in a way that is ‘successful, easy, speedy’, and enables her to fly back up to regain the flotilla soon.

Diane made it on the plane and Steve went back to Bella Bella to pick up Willard.  Once back with the group we pulled anchor and traveled to the next place to explore.   The water was ‘not smooth’ but we all survived.

We ended up anchoring in the end of Blair Inlet in a beautiful cove. The trick was to avoid the rocks as you entered

Crab pots of course went down.

Dinner on Nelsea then a movie on Magic.  Tonight’s movie was another of the Avengers series, a good action movie for the guys.
