Day 25 – June 9 - Bremner Bay to Hurricane or Simons Group – Destination unknown
Raining again. The winds seem to have subsided a little and we are on the move again to the Hurricane group and depending on the wave action we might go up to the Simons group. I am hoping that the wave action does not live up to the name of the Hurricane group.
Looking back at our stern view – Sea Life, Nelsea, and Bidarka Bidarka is on the far left coming up to the island. Nice water so far.
Well Tom was in the lead as we tried to leave the Hurricane group and called back saying that we would not be continuing to the Simons group. He was not going to take Chris out in those waves. That was good enough for me. I took some photos of waves crashing on the rocks and knew that meant the waves out further were not for me.
Those are not waterfalls, those are waves crashing on the rocks and shooting 20-30 feet in the air
We made a hard left into the Spitfire Channel and inside a bit more and found a protected anchorage. Soon after all were settled, Steve came up with the idea that some of the guys would venture out in Nellie to 'check out the waves'. Of course, Glen went with him. They did not give us a report so it must have been not so good.
Very odd looking log or rock formation near the beach. Never did figure it out.
Today is Nicole and Chris's 5th anniversary, how time flies.
It rained that day too!
We just looked on You Tube …. Dangerous Water Adventures …. and found the video of the group of Jet Skiers that went from Seattle to Ketchican this past week – seven days. This is the group we met in Port McNeil. The video was great and our boats were in it. 😊 They zipped right along and saw, Orca, Humpback whale, white sided dolphin, Eagles, Bear, and swimming deer. Great video.
