Day 26 - June 10 – Spitfire Anchorage
It’s raining again or I should say still. The wind and waves are still higher than we want to deal with so today is going to be a lazy ‘stay at home kind of day’. It is also our 44th wedding anniversary.
I got up early as usual but this time decided to bake some Cinnamon rolls (from scratch) for Glen’s breakfast. They turned out yummy. Might have to make a much larger batch next time so everyone in the Fearless Five can have some, Glen ate too many to have enough to share.
Since I’m trying (not very successfully) to not eat a ton of carbs, I have not been doing my normal amount of baking this summer. Chris Miner has been holding up that end of things and has been baking Sour Dough Bread and my French Bread recipe often enough to satisfy everyone’s fresh bread ‘fix’.
Most of the group spent the day on their respective boats, reading, napping, watching a movie, doing laundry, or whatever else they wanted.
Glen wanted to spend his afternoon watching ‘heavy equipment failures’ on You Tube. OMG, just how many times do you have to see a very large backhoe or whatever, stuck in the bottom of a muddy hole? Answer – apparently a lot.
Dinner was the normal 7pm on Nelsea. It is sure nice to have a boat with a table large enough to seat 10 for dinner. It will seat more than 10 but we only have 10 on this trip right now. After dinner Michelle brought out and served a Cinnamon Cake for our Anniversary, and several cards were presented. She also decided that it was a good occasion for another group photo, so one was taken. Michelle is the master of group photos of people, setting up the shot, setting the timer, and running to jump into the photo at the last second.
Nelson, Dodge, Miner, Mehlum, Thomas
Chris and Tom came over to Magic to watch a movie. It was a horrible movie called Licorice Pizza even though it supposedly was nominated for multiple awards.
