Day 20 – June 4th -- Port McNeil to Blunden Harbor
We got up and watched the Jet Ski group get their morning started and then walked up into town for last minute needs. A large tub of ice cream as we’d finished off our supply last night. There was a locals ‘market’ in the park at the head of the dock so we went and purchased an assortment of goodies – Island Relish, salsa, a berry pie and some other bakery type items. All freshly made by locals.

We found out that there was a ‘Logging competition and show’ going on just down the road so we went to watch that for a bit. Men, Women, and youth (age 12 and up) were all there showing their skills. Some of those ladies can really throw an axe. And can truly hold their own with a chain saw. We watched for a bit and then went back to the boats to head out

We had a fairly uneventful cruise to Blunden. Once there the crab pots were put down. It was raining so most of us stayed inside reading etc… Everyone cooked their own dinner but gathered on Nelsea for our standard 7pm dinner reservation followed by discussion.
After dinner Tom went to check his pot and take a bit of a tour. He spotted a black bear working a beach and got a photo. Fist bear of the trip.
