July 6 – Goddard Hot Springs
The fisher folks went out again. Actually some of them are actually calling it catching now. It was a hot day.
Another trip up to the hot springs, this time including the uppermost pool, the truly natural one in the trees. Then worked our way down the hillside stopping in each tub for a soak on the way. Such a pretty spot. It sure would be fun to know the story about this place and the people who once lived here. There are remains of a house very close to the upper tub, with an outside fireplace right beside the tub building and the remains of the inside chimney just behind and up the hill a bit. Our guess is that the occupants used the hot springs for heating the house, bathing, etc.….
Baked a blueberry torte with fresh wild berries.
