July 17 - Pelican to Elfin Cove

July 17 – Pelican to Elfin Cove

High ground in Pelican

Shawn and Kat came in by float plane to Pelican at about 11:30am. It will be great to have them with us for this next leg of the trip.  Gave them a tour around the community, which didn’t take long.

Got them settled on the boat, and then headed out accompanies by Spirit Bear headed for Elfin Cove.  Sea Life and Noon Balloon had left earlier, to get there and try to secure dock space.

We arrived in Elfin Cove and side tided to Sea Life, Bear side tied to the Balloon, in the inner harbor.  Sea Jay was docked in the outer harbor.  The views around Elfin Cove are amazing.  You look directly at the Fairweather Range; the peak you look at is taller than Mt Rainier and is snowcapped.

Going into Elfin’s inner harbor

We walked around Elfin and took some photos, visited the gift shop, then said goodbye to Willow and Chris who flew out.

Too much of a haze to be able to see the mountains behind us very well.

Happy Hour was on the lido deck of Sea Life as it was a sunny warm afternoon and early evening.  Diane and Willard joined the Magic crew for Fish and Chips aboard Magic for dinner.  Tried to watch a movie after dinner:  Steve Jobs; but most fell asleep.  The kids had been up since 3:30am and were whooped.
