June 21 - Rocky Pass

June 21 – Rocky Pass

Well we ventured thru Rocky Pass today.  Some of the group were quite nervous about doing this as it is a) Rocky, b) narrow, and c) can have quite a current running through it.   To top things off it was raining and foggy.   The shore boats were tied on short leases, and Sea Eagle the 28 ft. tender to Sea Jay was skippered by Brian and followed it’s mother ship.   All 8 boats (counting Sea Eagle) made the passage without incident.

Sea Eagle doing a 30 knot fly-by of her mother ship.

We anchored in Lord’s Pocket and a few went out fishing.  This is the same place that Tom caught his huge Halibut 3 years ago.  He was ‘skunked’ today.

Tomorrow some will go fishing and some or maybe all will go into Kake for some shore time.
