June 12 - Day 43 Pigeon Island
It’s going to be another sunny day but there is a bit of wind this morning. Glen joined Steve and Michelle and went fishing again today. With the wind they might not have a great ride to the fishing grounds. The day was not overly warm as there were clouds and a breeze most of the day.
I spent the day working on projects and trying to clear out bad photos. One only needs so many shots of splashing water with no whale when you were trying to get that great whale photo.
No whale shows today out in front, the whales are likely out fishing in the big water today.
The ‘fishers’ came back with Halibut so we did not starve at dinner time. Fresh grilled Halibut is wonderful. Michelle reported that they saw lots of whales both Humpbacks and Orca out in the fishing grounds again today. They were breaching (jumping out of water) and having a great time. She got a few photos but said it was hard to take pictures from a bobbing boat.
Here are photos from yesterdays evening Whale Show.
5pm show, and a show it was. We’ve taken a boatload of whale photos and video’s today. Hopefully there are some good ones.
Coming up tail first
This whale clearly has had a close encounter with something that left a mark. Ouch!
We’ve named this one ‘Zipper’
