Saturday - Time for a bath?

 

 

 

May 14 – Hot Springs Time!

 

 

We left Shearwater and headed to Eucutt Bay in Dean Channel.  On the way the group on the other side of the channel saw a Humpback whale, and had Dahls Porpoise playing in their wake. 

 

 

After anchoring in this gorgeous bay which is surrounded by high hills a few with snow on top, we took a dinghy cruise exploring. The Douglas cruising book says that one of the peaks is 4,665 feet high and hold snow patches until late summer.  This looks like it could be prime place to maybe see a bear on the beach this evening or in the morning.  However, we saw no evidence of bears around (no bear scat) on the beach etc. Very protected anchorage.   Glen and Tom went out and put Prawn pots down, time will tell.

 

 

 

 

 

There is a great hot springs there that is just off the beach.  The rock tub is big enough for about 6 people and is quite hot.  I estimate 108 degrees at least.  In front of the rock tub is a claw foot style fiberglass bathtub which is piped with hot water from the upper tub.  Everyone had a great time soaking.  Lots of photos were taken some likely not bloggable.

Then back out to the raft for dinner.  Dinners seem to be getting later and later each evening, due to our play time habits.
