May 7 – Octopus Islands to Blind Channel
We skipped going to the Museum (similar to the one at Wallace Island) and headed out. Tom in the lead called back that there were several Orca around the corner along the shoreline. Hey Tom those are Dahls Porpoise not baby sized Orca. There were quite a few of them racing up the shoreline.
Group decided to stop and stay on the dock at Blind Channel for the night. Sunny day with winds, so staying on a dock will be fine. This will allow a couple of the boats to get power to fully recharge their batteries. Arrived at Blind Channel Resort with no problems. Early in season so lots of space on the dock. Went up the store and got ‘ice cream’ …. something that seems to be required at least by Glen at every dock. Took a hike up to the huge Cedar tree…. It is really big. Couldn’t get it all in one photo…. this photo is about ½ the width of it.
Then back to boats and some internet time for me. Glen and Willard are playing cribbage. Others are napping or doing whatever pleases them in the afternoon. Rain is coming, the sunny warm day has changed quickly to much cooler.
Dinner will be Surf and Turf with fresh crab caught this morning. Yummy.
