It is another beautiful sunny morning.
Here are sample of a few of the flowers that we've seen on this trip. Yes, Tom and Glen I do take pictures of flowers and missing berries!
We are leaving Campbell River (Coast Marina) going by rental car to Victoria and then the Victoria Clipper to Seattle today. We will be doing the trip in reverse on Monday. Neither of us has ever been on the Clipper so that should be fun.
We are going to go see my mom in Seattle, who as most of you know is going through a very rough time this summer. One of the hardest things about the Alaskan adventure has been the issues with phone communications and not being able to just call mom when I wanted. Likewise the inability to see her and sit by her side has been very tough. Thankfully my kids have been there to visit her and keep me informed. It will be good to see her.
Later in the week we are headed to a ski patrol convention in Spokane. Providing all things go well, we will be coming back here next Monday to pick up the boat and continue this adventure.
I’m the NW Region Director and a member of the Executive Board for the Pacific NW Division of the NSP (National Ski Patrol) so it’s somewhat tough to skip these meetings. Most of you who really know me know that I’m pretty driven and committed to my obligations. Be they work or play related. Some would say that I need to be ‘committed’, but that’s another story.
The Miner clan are going to play between here and Port McNeil for the next few days and then explore the Broughton’s this next week while we are away. We will join them again around the 11th or 12th after our return from the northern part of the lower 48.
Please standby for our return to this adventure and the blog.
