Day 82 – July 31
As usual I was up long before anyone else. I went upstairs and did the normal morning boat clean up, took a few photos of the bright sky and reflective water.
There were only about 4 boats in the bay last night so there was not nearly as much activity this morning. Having seen the morning for the rest of the crew was going to start late this morning I decided to go back down and watch a movie. Okay more accurately the last ¼ of the movie that Glen started after we went to bed at 1am. For Glen it had been a double feature movie night.
Tom and Buck cast their lines a few times this morning while people started stirring. Once everyone was up we had a Peach French Toast breakfast just before 11am. Following breakfast we pulled anchor and headed out; under rainy skies. Today our target location is Joe Cove on Eden Island, which is only about 12 miles away.
Glen tried hailing Noon Balloon but no reply, will try again a bit later.
We got anchored in Joe Cove and tied to shore. We placed ourselves just off the small floating dock in the bay. There were three boats tied to the dock. It is not much of a dock/float, as it is decaying and covered with grass/weeds. It does have a picnic table however.
There were 3 other boats anchored in the bay, for a total of 8 boats for the night. One could say it was crowded but not really.
It was a bread baking day on Magic again. So we’ll have a fresh braided Sesame Wheat Bread with our Salmon for dinner tonight.
Gary (Balloon) called and he and Glen compared schedules. They will try to come visit us for a bit in Echo Bay before we head to Campbell River. It will be fun seeing them.
It was quite a wet day today as it drizzled or downright rained all day.
