Day 4 - Roche to Ganges

Day 4 – Roche to Ganges

Wow, what a change in weather from yesterday.  Warm, sunny skies, little wind and flat water.   We cruised to Van Isle and cleared customs very quickly.  Well in like 3 minutes after waiting on the phone for 20 minutes for the customs people to take our call.     About 4 boats arrived at the customs dock just after we tied up.   Kotare was in that group so their time to clear will likely be a while.

Cruised slowly along giving Kotare time to catch up.

Anchored on the northeast side of Goat Island, not far from Ganges.   After getting settled we went into town to look around.  Oh, and get ice cream cones.  If you know Glen his MO is to get ice cream as soon as possible when getting into a town, this keeps us out of quite a few shops as we eat and walk around.  We managed to get out of town with only buying one thing a live Basil plant for our culinary needs.  We ran into Craig and Ann Wilbour in the grocery store where they were picking up a few items.

We did not buy this but thought it was interesting.  A moose in a claw foot bathtub.

Perfect for that very large Alaskan lodge.

Back to the mother ships and dinner for four on Magic.

Liz, you are a writer and we're looking forward to your adventures. If you happen to see Noon Balloon go by, she sold a couple of weeks ago and was planning on leaving for her new home in Juneau about now. Y'all have fun.

Tom saw Noon Balloon when he was racing up to catch up to us. Just asked ... saw her in Sydney at a fuel dock. So you are boatless in Oregon.
