Day 10 – May 25 Nanaimo to Denman Island
I was up early as normal and got some work done on some projects. Then had a conference call while Glen ran back into town to get something that he had forgotten. Once he was back it was time to move.
We headed out under sunny sky and okay water about 11am heading north. Goal today is somewhere in the Comox area. As we passed some of the small islands there were about 6-8 eagles soaring in the winds. Tom took and posted his daily ‘where are we now photo’ on Facebook. So, I will not say the name of the island that was his subject matter today.
About 1:30 as we passed French Creek the water was …. Well let’s just say it was not ‘Liz water’. Stuff started falling off counters, as the boat pitched from side to side. Yes the stabilizers were on. Glen wanting to live another day, brought me my bracelet which I put on immediately. He also sped up about 300 rpm to try to ride it out a bit better.
About 2:45 the water had settled down ‘a bit’ which is a good thing in my book (and by my stomach).
Anchored off Denman Island in two rafts – Magic / Bidarka / Kotare and Nelsea / Debt. Hung out on the back decks in the sunshine and had dinner outside.
