Yes Bay

Day 17 – May 27

Another sunny day in paradise. When the guys got up they launched two of the kayaks and went up into the lake. Hey, if you can’t get there by dinghy go by kayak. They paddled across the first lake and part way up the river, to the lodge. They reported that it is a beautiful place with another water fall of about 4 feet, which during the salmon run must an amazing place to watch the fish and the bear. They saw one bear that kept looking back but kept its distance and then crossed the river and headed for the woods.

Pulled anchor and started out about 10:45 am, headed for Yes Bay. About 1 ½ foot chop on the water, but should be a following sea once we round the corner. Rounded corner and found the following seas with 3 foot rollers. The stabilizers are on, Liz has her bracelet on, and it’s time for her nap.

Arrived in Yes Bay and anchored 2 ½ hrs after leaving Neha; obviously not pushing it too fast. We lowered the dinghies and explored the area. Directly behind us in this bay is what looks to be a portable saw mill. Around the corner is a good sized fishing lodge. Chris’ father used to come to this lodge to fish some years ago. Further down the bay is the site of an old Indian village, the only evidence of any human activity are 3 piling near the shore.

Another warm evening, so a BBQ dinner on Magic’s stern tonight. There was a beautiful sunset tonight. Later it was amazingly still fairly bright out at 11:30pm.
