Headed for Squirrel Cove

Day 3
May 13th – Up early, left about 6:30 headed for Squirrel Cove. Calm water but raining. Called Miner’s Debt on radio about 9:30 am as we came up to the Copeland Islands to find out where they really were. Copeland Islands. Yikes we’d better change course or we will pass them. Found them at 9:40 am sitting in a quite bay in the rain. Tied alongside and visited for a few minutes while guys checked the tides, currents, etc.. to make a plan for the day. Tom and Chris caught some prawns this morning so Hors o’duevers tonight. Plan set to go through the Yuculea Rapids and Dent Rapids at slack tide today. Left Copelands at about 10:05 am. Rapids were nothing. Arrived at Shoal Bay and tied to the Government dock. 1:45 pm. Still raining. Time to get the Gortex and boots out. Yep, it’s May.
