Happy Birthday to Glen

June 14
Beets me .... I can't remember what we did on this day ....   Cruised wherever the captain took us.  ha ha
Anchored in Fish Egg bay outside of Craig.
The weather, water, and wildlife have been amazing this summer.    We couldn't ask for more!   Sorry you all aren't with us.

June 15  - Happy Birthday to Glen
He is now officially 60!

Got up to yet another sunny day, darn this Alaska weather  ha ha ha.
Glen and I went for a morning dinghy ride to check out some places nearby and got some photos of the momma and poppa eagle and their nest.   Did not see the babies but others seem to think they did.

The guys went out fishing but Glen being the non fisher stayed back and hung out with the girls.   He took us on a dinghy ride to investigate Bob's Place.   Apparently in the old days it was a summer place for the Alaskan natives.    Beautiful beach with lots and I mean lots of clams.  Too bad there is a red tide report ongoing.  There is very little evidence that we could find of prior inhabitants but this would have been a great place to spend summers.   Protected waters, near fishing grounds, whales just around the corner and flat lands in the woods.    We saw whales playing and eating on the way over and back.  Got some  good tail shots.
Arrival in Craig, anchored in bay around the corner and then took the dink into town.   Small place, but nice.  Hit the gift shop to see what they were pushing .... most craft and photos were made by locals.  Some nice stuff.   We then went to the grocery store and beverage store to restock things that we needed or felt that we just could not live without.     Eating has not been a problem on this trip.  The problem will be the effects of all this eating.
Mehlum's, Dean, Glen and I went out to dinner at Ruth Anne's.   Nice place with good food.
Nelson's picked up their new crew/guests here, and tomorrow the Collier's crew/guests will depart.
Dean has been anxious to get internet access to find out more about the Colorado fires.  One of which has been within 6 miles of his house.    It appears that that fire is now about 60% contained so he is hopeful that he will have a house to go home to.
