Birthday afloat -- it's the life!

Day 4 - May 11th ---

Got up to gray sky and a few drips; went for a dinghy ride to explore the area.   Saw at least 15 Eagles in the trees along the shoreline.  They were all talking this morning.   'Look at those crazy people in that little boat'.    Some nice cabins and a couple larger homes along this bay.  Lots of black nets tied flat to the sand underwater near shore in this bay.  Will have to investigate what those are for, must be some kind of seafood harvesting.  Back to Magic, the neighbors are stirring.

Glen made Apple Cinnamon Strudel French Toast for my birthday breakfast, making enough for our two boat raft - Rendezvous & Magic.    The skies have opened and the moisture is spilling.   9:00 am Rendezvous pulled away with Linda singing Happy Birthday to you.   Pulled our anchor and headed out.   Panacea and Reflections doing the same.   At Glen's suggestion I put on my bracelet and prepared for some rougher water.  A nap will likely be in order.

Noon - arrival at Rebecca Spit.   The other boats are somewhere behind us.  Glen kicked it up the speed a bit to get through the swells.  Hunkered down I fell asleep.  I woke up as the engines slowed to an idle; Glen picked a spot and dropped the anchor.

Went by dingy over to Bradburn Landing (friends of Nat and Linda) and played gatherer and harvester for clams and oysters.   Then back to Magic, Rendezvous and Magic pulled anchor and went on to the Octopus Islands for the night.  Linda made a yummy Spaghetti B-Day dinner for the group.   We all ate till we were full then headed for an early night sleep.    Expect a storm to hit during the night.
