Happy Birthday Shawn!

Day 23 - June 3

Happy Birthday Shawn!

Really we aren't old enough to have a 26 year old son!

Still raining. Not overly hard, just constant. Tide was very low this morning. Stopped raining for a bit about 10 am, looks like it might clear up. Oops spoke too soon, by noon it was raining again only harder. Glen tried to complain that I did not untie the stern line before the rain started again. Too bad, not my job! With all this rain the salt should be rinsed off the boat now.

Pulled out and headed southeast. Still raining. 1:50 pm Glen thinks he’s tricky because just as we were going through a place called Sunny Bay the sun came out.

2:25 pm anchoring in Santa Anna Inlet. There are three other boats already here, ranging from 53, to 70 feet. Just after we got anchored and put the dinghy down it started raining again. Looks like a perfect time to put our noses back into books. The weather could not make up it’s mind today … rain, clear, sun, rain, overcast, down pouring rain, sun and then it started over again. It’s a good day to stay inside. Neighboring boaters put on their ‘arctic snow/foul weather gear’ and went outside anyway – one in a kayak, one fishing off his deck, and a some in dinghies out joy riding around. We stayed inside all warm and dry.

This is a nice anchorage with a trail to the lake and then a longer trail (3 miles) over to the end of Yes Bay that we were at a couple weeks ago. No we are not hiking to Yes Bay, have been there the easy way by boat. If it’s drier in the morning we might walk up to the lake though. Time will tell.
