September 2 – Day 125 To Wright Inlet, Ala Passage
The sun is shining again, but it was cold this morning. The day started by the loss of a prawn pot (2nd of the trip for Magic) when they went out to pull them in the dinghies. But then as we headed out with the big boats Willard spotted it near where it wasn’t visible earlier. It had apparently been hiding. Still neither boat caught any prawn.
We cruised along today under a bright blue sky but cool air. Along the way we stopped to fish behind Cosine Isl. Nice spot 180 feet, gravel bottom, fish sign on the fish finder, but …. I think we’ve decided that there are NO Fish, or Prawn in BC.
Glen found a nice cove in the Wright inlet entrance, anchored and tied to shore. Sea Life tied to our port side. Even the lines and fenders know the drill now. In fact, we aren’t even untying the bow line, just handing over the loop to go around Magic’s cleat. We were snug for the night by 2:30pm.
The afternoon project is going to be looking at the Generator on Sea Life which seems to be having a fit today. It has been making noise the last couple days. Today it has been Black smoke, white smoke, no smoke, something is definitely wrong.
Willard quickly determined that it sucked up a JELLY FISH. Wait that means that there are fish in BC, just not the kind we want.
That repair done, it is time for another dinghy adventure. Investigated the Wright lagoon and Curtis inlet, pretty but not much else.
