Port Hardy

Day 79 – July 28

It was partly sunny when I woke up this morning, but by the time Glen got up it was raining; not hard but raining none the less. We pulled anchor and headed out. We had a long cruise of about 6 miles ahead of us this morning. Not long later we tied to a dock in Port Hardy and met up with the Miner’s. We all walked into town and did the walking tour ending at the local café for some fish and chips. Then we went on to the internet café for a beverage and free high speed internet. Much nicer than the slow connections with the aircard. Oh, and yes the pharmacy had the batteries we needed, so Liz is now ready for more 'non Liz water'.

We plan to stay here overnight to weather out this storm that is still predicted. They keep predicting this storm that has not yet hit. I guess that is a good thing.

There are Eagles all over this place. The dock we are on is right next to a cannery/fish packing plant and there are currently 16-20 Eagles sitting in the trees on shore. They must be waiting for some fish handouts.
