Day 37 June 21 - Culpepper Lagoon

Day 37     June 21  -  Culpepper Lagoon

The group decided to stay another day for more site seeing but Willard pulled out of our raft about 9am today to head back to Shearwater.   He will be picking Diane up in Bella Bella tomorrow afternoon.  It will be good to have her back with us.

Give me  a break.  It rained all day.

We went for a ride up the Lagoon looking to see if we could find a bear where the group saw one yesterday.   It was raining and the tide was low so we were not able to get up river as far as they went yesterday.   At the delta of the river the sand/muddy beach was covered with quite a few ‘holes’ dug by bear in search of clams and other yummy things to eat.    Tom reported that when he arrived there was a bear up in the grass above the beach but when it saw his boat it ran into the woods.

Most of the afternoon was filled with watching a movie.   We watched  CODA  which was very good.

After the movie I had a couple phone calls, then it was dinner time.    After dinner we made another run up the river to look for bear.  The tide was high so we were able to go way up river.   It was still raining and I believe that the bear was hunkered down somewhere warm watching a movie as it was clearly not out waiting for us to visit.

That is snow. But too many prickly bushes below so Michelle and I could not go for some snow play

Back to the big boats then the rest of the evening was spent reading.
