Epilogue

This past week has been an extremely busy one so I apologize for not finding time to get back to this blog. Yes we are home safe.

We hope that you have enjoyed following our adventure even a fraction as much as we have enjoyed being on the adventure and using this blog to keep those who could not go with us informed.

We still don’t know anything about the downed engine, haven’t had time to deal with it yet, but Glen told me that apparently the water maker has decided to start working again. Hum, maybe it just didn’t like Alaskan water. We will still have it checked out and serviced.

I want to thank each and every one of you who covered for us back home, while we were off being explorers. You know who you are so I won’t try to list you all here.

However, I do want to publically thank our children Shawn and Nicole for taking care of the family home, and rental properties, making sure bills were paid, houses were rented, etc… and for taking care of my mother (their grandmother) and her health support needs this summer, and keeping us informed as best they could. Mom achieved her goal of staying strong until we got home. She did not want us to cancel or return home early from this trip, as she knew we’d been planning it for years. In home Hospice care was started and has quickly progressed to 24 hrs a day. Mom’s journey is coming to an end.

It’s been a wonderful summer and one we will never forget. I’ve discovered that we took over 10,000 photos (just counting the new camera) on this trip. Using the camera on the 3 shots per second mode when shooting, I mean photographing whales and eagles really adds up fast. It’s a good thing that they are digital as the photo processing bill would be wild. Yes there are tons of photos to be deleted. As Glen has said many times, yep, there were lots of trees, water, waterfalls, ice, birds, whales, and lots of whale splashes on this trip. In the beginning we’d take pictures of every Eagle and by the end it was ... Hey, there’s an Eagle. Is it doing anything exciting? No. Well Eagle Smeagle, I’m not even getting up to look then. Hopefully we will be able to select some of the best and most memorable for a slide show of sorts for our memory library aboard Magic Moment.
